In the spring of 2010, I represented a French speaking woman who was seeking asylum after being severely beaten by police in her country. The documents that formed the basis of her case were in French and required translation into English. Additionally, I often needed to have emails to witnesses translated from English into French. Rachel was able to take on both tasks. The documents she translated were varied, ranging from bank statements to affidavits to legal documents.
